Let your children experience the real world. Do not try to create separate one for them. It is very dangerous in the long run. No matter what time brings, playing their heart out is good for children. Many researches prove that playing outside improves socio emotional skills, and children of all ages love playing outside. We all know that the more time a child spends in the nature, the more likely they are to grow up to be good human beings. Is there any life lesson that nature can not teach us ?
As simple as taking public transportation can teach a child many things about the society. Country like India where world meets in the form of different cultures and practices, you will have a lot that child looks around and learn.
The earlier you show the world to your child, the more likely the child will understand the world better. Let your children enjoy the fresh air, bird chirping, plant textures, cloudy sky, rain drops.
Young children are developing and learning from every experience.
- Let your child play in mud with old pots, pans, utensils and household tools to develop senses of daily life.
- Describe what you see when you walk along with children. Talk about plants, animals, humans and weather.
- Pick books that involves nature in stories, take child out. Read story in midst of nature.
- Make a list of local plants, trees, animals and birds. We can give list and ask children to look for it and mark it collect rocks, acorns, leaves or pinecones. See how many items children can find on a list, or gather objects to add to a collection.
- Prepare and eat food outside with friends and family. Thats how early human lived. Living in nature is a boon. In this modern world it is our responsibility to make sure we give this experience once in a month to our children. Play a game together, share roles and work, cook a nice meal , without fire, with fire.
- You need not to spend a lot on resorts for this out door parties, you can turn your terrace into beautiful area for outdoor celebrations.
Getting outside is good for physical and mental health and development for children.
When Children play outdoors results into lower obesity rates and the risk of nearsightedness. Morning sun also helps children and us with vitamin D.
Playing outdoor promotes curiosity, creativity and critical thinking. Studies have found that children who spent more time in nature exploration had improved learning outcomes and ofcourse more common sense.
Research shows that when children spent time in nature.. they had less anger and aggression. Impulse control also improves. Stress and depression are lower for all people who spend time in nature. Children show increased focus and reduced symptoms of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
Take advantage of the healing power of nature near your home or neighborhood, or wherever you feel comfortable. Remember to dress your child appropriately for the weather and place. It is also a good idea to wash hands or use hand sanitizer during and after the adventure.
Considering the current situation I strongly advice you to be with your child when child is out door. Alongwith the health, child safety also matters.
